Aquatech Sub-Aqua Club

For qualified divers we have an active club at Aquatech with 150 members diving all year round. We welcome divers from all agencies, we don't have politics here a diver is a diver.

Trips this year include Malta, wreck diving in Norway, seal diving in the Farne islands and Largs with others on the website. In the last few years our holidays have included reef diving in the Red Sea, diving with the seals in the Farne Islands, wreck diving in Scapa Flow and Cornwall. In November 2000 we spent a fortnight diving in Thailand, in November 2001 we embarked on an expedition to Truk Lagoon, Palau and Yap in Micronesia. November 2002 we went to the Galapagos Islands. In May 2003 we went on a week long " Wreck Safari " in the Red Sea diving on nine different wrecks in the week. In 2004 we went for a fortnight excursion to Cuba as well as a weeks trip to Scapa Flow in Orkney to dive on the German World War 1 Battle Fleet. 2005 was also a full year with 3 big trips to the West Coast of Scotland, another return to Scapa Flow and a diving weekend in Lundy. There was many more weekend trips besides. In 2006 we went to the Red Sea, Cornwall, Scotland and Wales regularly and members are diving all over the world.

We have put together a list of our experienced members who have shown an interest in taking out newly qualified or out of practice divers. This means that you will have someone to dive with and introduce you to the other members in the club. The club fees are £40 per year and having membership means you can come on any of our trips or just come to the pool and pub on a Monday night to keep your skills up. Also you can come on our day trips as we dive nearly every weekend and during the summer months we also have mid week dives on offer.

Our social evening is Monday. Our members are able to use the pool for two hours to practice their skills or general fitness or just for a chat. We go to the Bandstand pub over the road in Reddish afterwards to share diving related stories and the like .... well for a beer really.
