HSE FIRST AID

 

 

There are two certificates recognised by the Health and safety executive.

The "Full Statutory" and the "Appointed person", we run both at Aquatech.

An "Appointed Person" certificate is suitable for low risk working environments and is gained by attending a single days training (no exam required).

Course contents: - Mouth-to-Mouth, CPR, Airway clearance, control of bleeding, Management of unconscious casualties and minor injuries. This course can be tailored for specific groups e.g. water sport enthusiasts, people responsible for care of the elderly etc

The "Full Statutory" certificate suitable for every working environment and necessary for higher risk environments takes four days to complete with an assessment of the students skills at the end.

If a valid and current 'FAW' certificate is held a two-day re-validation course can be arranged.

Course contents: - mouth-to-Mouth, CPR, Airway clearance, breathing difficulties, Management of unconscious casualties (including epilepsy, diabetes, head injuries, strokes, heart attacks & poisoning). It also covers the control of bleeding and application of dressings, damage to bones, ligaments and joints, eye injuries, burns and scalds and minor injuries and illnesses.

Certificates for both the above courses are valid for a period of three years and are valid in any work place throughout the United Kingdom. Students will be supplied with comprehensive handout materials appropriate to their course. You should wear appropriate clothing, as there are some practical sessions included.

Courses can be arranged by mutual agreement for groups or companies with a minimum of six people. Discounts are also available for larger groups. Courses can also be taught 'on-site' at your own location subject to sufficient numbers being available. Individuals can be catered for.
